Today we drove to Alexandria, a beautiful city with a European feel along the Mediterranean. It is also the site of two of the former wonders of the world, the light house and library of alexandria (which are gone, the pyramids are the only one that remain). Anyway, we arrived, and I was initially a little nervous because I have been throwing up all morning...gross, I know. Even on the bus I didn't feel very well, but I tried to have a good attitude and think healthy thoughts. So I am feeling better now, even though I haven't been able to eat anything yet today.

But I have been able to DRINK something....there was a STARBUCKS along the shore and we sat out and I enjoyed a blended raspberry lemonade and the wonder of having a starbucks in my hand. I am a seattleite at heart! After starbucks (which included a taxi ride. I might have paid 70 pounds and the other car paid 7, so clearly something was lost in translation. But that is only like 12 dollars and so I could have made that mans day. Let's hope...) we went to this internet cafe, and tonight we are going out to eat and to the movies. A rather american day in Egypt, but still great fun. We are chatting with some locals here in the cafe and I even made facebook friends with one! Crazy, I know. Well, the cigarette smoke is getting to me so I better sign off.
